This ruling from the Supreme Court against Ontario's Ministry of Transport could have implications nationwide when realigned highways bypass businesses dependent on passing trade:

The Antrim Truck Stop had to relocate itself to Arnprior. The dumb thing in this case is that the Ministry could have just built a new rest centre at Arnprior and given them first crack at building something, and in so doing better integrated it into the interchange. Instead, it's now created a tangle of roads and a convoluted path to access the facility, all of which probably cost nearly as much again as the compensation they've been ordered to pay.
