WW2 Era Calgary Street Car Tickets

Friend of mine found these tickets in a box his Grandfather left behind. Included in the box were his WW2 dog tags which made him think these tickets were from the same time. He was stationed in Calgary prior to being shipped overseas, so I'm guessing late 30s, early 40s?

I suspect they are for the electric trolly system that use to run downtown including up Stephen Ave, but I thought someone here may have a better idea when these tickets would have been used:

Not sure if this should be under the Transportation and Public Transit Section?
