It's quite easy to be pro density but anti-height. Height doesn't mean density. My opinion is that the region (including Vancouver) would be better served by limiting the tallest towers to the regional centres, tallish towers to the municipal centres, and sticking to human scale to human scale+ everywhere else. The North Van proposal is equally as bad and the loss of amentity space is a red herring by the development team. The same amount of public amentity could've been provided by reshifting the massing to say 3*14storey towers or even better 2*12 storey towers and 2*10 storey towers all while landing additional density and creating a more welcoming urban fabric. Personally it seems like the Regional Vision for the Metro is not being adhered to and we will all suffer from it longterm.
