I also live and work downtown. I have a three block commute, and during poor weather I can cut through multiple buildings including our downtown market.
London has a boatload of beautiful innercity neighbourhoods full of tree-lined streets and prewar stock, but I just love the energy and variety downtown offers. Plus, rooftop shenanigans during outdoor parking lot concerts is rad. Aftermath from a Snoop Dogg concert:
