Summer 2012 has been a hot one although as of today and into next week our temperatures are cooling. July and August have had day after day of 100 degree temps and the valley has been hazed, and I mean thickly hazed in with smoke from fires from in state as well as California, Oregon, and Nevada. There are currently two huge forest fires burning near Boise, each around 100,000 acres so far and are large enough that they have been photographed from space. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/fi...820-idaho.html
The smoke has been so thick that the mountains have been hidden behind the haze. The skyline photos below and throughout the thread are missing the backdrop of the mountains. Today they were in view because we only had mild smoke.
Construction of what will become Boise's new tallest
JUMP Jack's Urban Meeting Place construction.

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse
