And why does Vancouver need a Times Square exactly? So we can put a check mark on some arbitrary, subjective list of what it takes to be a "world class city"? I don't see the point. I like the way Granville Street is developing with all it's neon and LED light poles. It has a unique vibe already. Sears could definitely use innovative lighting effects, but I wouldn't want them to go overboard with it like some of the buildings in Dundas Square.
