Another town the City should look to is Asheville, NC. Their downtown is phenomenal. Microbreweries, local shops and restaurants that feature local produce: amazing place. Thanks for the positive comments but a few things/corrections:
Greenville's downtown has micro-breweries like Blue Ridge Brewery along with micro-distilleries like Dark Corner Distillery, tons of local shops, and over 100 restaurants downtown (by end of year) with several featuring local foods. TD Bank Saturday Market offers local produce for sale also:
http://www.saturdaymarketlive.com/ I definitely agree that Asheville is a fantastic city and has a great downtown also. The Orange Peel is beyond awesome and I love eating at their Mellow Mushroom. Nothing quite like the Grove Park Inn either.
