Regarding downtown, does anyone have a recommendation for a nice but moderately-priced hotel? We're thinking of taking a trip to LA in July or August. I'm also interested to know whether the Getty museum is accessible via public transit (I don't mind taking the bus). Thanks!

The Ritz Milner on Flower between 8th and 9th street or Cecil Hotel/Stay on Main between 6th and 7th.
To get to the Getty Museum from downtown, take the Purple Line to Wilshire/Western, transfer to Metro Rapid 720. Get off at Wilshire/Westwood and transfer to Metro Rapid 761 towards Van Nuys. Get off at Getty Center Drive.
