Stadium du Littoral is a Spectacular Net Zero Sports Complex in France
by Bridgette Meinhold, 10/28/11

Recently completed in September, Stadium du Littoral is a multi-sport complex dedicated to rugby, football, archery, running, cycling and BMX. The arena is composed of flexible spectator and sporting areas, as well as all the necessary administration and athletic facilities. Designed by French design practice Olgga Architectes, the stadium is also slated to be completely net zero energy. Photovoltaic panels are set on the roof to generate electricity, and a solar hot water system produces half of the facility's domestic hot water. Soon a wind turbine will be installed and the complex will produce more power than it needs!
