This is a celebration of the industrial age, the automobile age, and the love-child of both ages, the manufactured mobile home.
The costumed people were at the Steampunk festival in Waltham. They appear to be celebrating the machine age with a science fiction twist. How lucky for me to stumble upon them and have my camera! Very nice people.
The roadside motels, attractions, restaurants, etc. are from suburban Boston's crazy Route One. Truly a tribute to the golden age of automobile travel.
And finally, the combination of factories & wheels, the trailer house. The relics I am showing are nearly antique. And becoming more rare by the day. The old trailer parks are being erased quickly as new shopping centers & townhouse developments take their place. Probably a good thing in the opinion of many. However, I think we are losing a bit of Americana. If I were rich, I would be buying these treasures up and restoring them as museum pieces for the future.
