I think that $60 million dollars would be a great start and could build a decent stadium. Part of the reason why the BMO Field cost as much as it did is because the space on the double tier (grand stand side) appears to have enclosed space under the first tier, and luxury boxes between the first and second tier plus media space at the very top. I haven't been to the BMO Field but I hope that I can get Toronto FC soccer tickets to a game in April (to investigate the stadium and take lots of pictures). The Events Nova Scotia stadium proposal also had a few levels of usable space on its double tier side.
Personally, I would hope for $15 million each from the three levels of government, $15 million in individual contributions and $15 million from a corporate sponsor for a $75 million dollar stadium. However, that might be dreaming.
PS: I think that $60 - $75 million is a good target for the stadium cost. There is an associated risk of setting one's expectations too high. For the people on this forum who have followed the Regina Multipurpose Entertainment Centre (Stadium) discussion, it is easy to see the possible result. Instead of getting a decent-to-good stadium in the near future, we could be chasing after an expensive stadium for years. Personally I would prefer an economical stadium in the near future.
