If it was a big ugly one like the Alaskan Way viaduct in Seattle, I would support removing them. However, as far as I'm concerned, the integration of the viaducts with Spectrum and GM Place is a great use of space. Also, for the most part, the viaducts are above other roads, lanes, and empty lots. I would like to see other buildings built in between and also integrated. They are not a waste of space. Having a road above something else is using space more efficiently, even if it can be ugly sometimes.
