This has been thought about several times. The problem is, is that there is no real sustainability with this. Saskatoon and Regina are not large enough centers to justify this commute. Calgary and Edmonton still don't find it feasible and they are both over 1 million people. However, knowing this will most likely be valuable in the future the province is securing rail lines that are continually being abandoned in between Regina and Saskatoon to hopefully one day implement a high speed rail between the two cities.
