You're right, and I think the building is fairly old, too. That was the Horseshoe Cabaret about 10 years ago. Lots of wood paneling and Western-themed stuff. There was an elevated dancefloor in front of the stage, and the one time I was in there a guy fell off the dancefloor and broke his neck. He apparently has not walked since.
Then it was jam space for bands before becoming Giant Tiger.
