I would have to disagree. With either of the routes it is all about timing. My parents live in Hope Hull (just south of MGM) and the last couple of trips from Old Cloverdale to there (and back) via the 65 were fine. Even with the 45 mph in the construction zones, you would probably make better time than the stop and go routine along the bypass. And the lanes on the freeway are smooth as glass compared to what they replaced!
