Be Glad You Live in PDX

Hello everyone! I thought I would take time today to give thanks for living in good 'ol Portland, Oregon, specifically in terms of moderately aesthetic building design.

Sure, we may cringe at the awkward visage of the "Fugjoy" or lament the cookie-cutter boxiness of the Lloyd district, but at least we don't have this:



This is the shining pearl in the redevelopment of the downtown of the city I grew up in. Everyone is raving over the design. When I went back in April to bury my grandfather, more than one person told me "They had business at the RENAISSANCE" and paused, expecting me to raise my eyebrows in awe.

Just thought I'd like to show my fellow Portlanders how good we have have it, and many props to the PDC for working with developers to make sound aesthetic decisions on occasion at least.
