i may be a little late to the debate, (and granted, i haven't read through all of the pages yet) but i have to say that i absolutley hate the new 'midwestern canada' moniker.

canada doesn't have a midwest. it has the prarie provinces... a proud and historical name that's distinctly canadian. i mean, our country didn't develop in the way that the US did, so the term 'midwest' doesn't really apply. its nonsensical to apply it so willy-nilly.

if it did, then windsor, ontario would be 'midwestern' since its a mere half km from detroit...
