I think the glass sheathing will give it the requisite attractiveness we're hoping for. The rendering alone makes it difficult to have a complete idea of it's final outcome. This angle shows that it will actually be much larger from the back than I had originally thought. I still wish they would have made it taller, but I'm okay with it as long as someone else comes along with a new 40-50 story tower soon.
Wasatch, you mentioned the, now Ken Garff tower. I used to hate that building. However, since Ken Garff cleaned it up and did something with the fascia/skin,(although,I'm not sure quite what exactly) I have actually come to like the building quite a bit. I know and accept that the Garff tower is a very important example of that style, and of quite some prominence to architect's nationally. What exactly did they do to improve it's appearance?
Not the best pic. Someone give us a better one if you have it. Like I said, I think it cleaned up nicely, and I'm glad we have it as an example. However, most international style is really cheesy imo. I'm glad Salt Lake doesn't have a huge stock of the style like so many cities. L.A. has hundreds of them and they're usually not even close to as attractive as the Ken Garff tower,(if you can imagine that!)
