That's the huge win for the Convention Centre, it allows them to secure large international conventions and events that simply cannot be accommodated with the current downtown hotel capacity.

This was always the plan from the inception of the Convention Centre expansion, initially the concept was to incorporate a hotel tower into the expansion.
