Have a look out your window right now, we live in an arctic nightmare for 4 months of the year! Our city should do everything they can to encourage and support developments of nice indoor gathering/event spaces where the people of Ottawa can enjoy themselves year round. Lansdowne, Lebreton, NAC, EY, central library....all amazing indoor spaces that really add to our city in many tangible and some less obvious ways. Not only would it be nice to see an arena built this decade, but by the city putting up some funds they can use it to leverage things they want like covered walkways to transit, transit levies on hockey and events tickets, public housing, public spaces, etc.
