(Even with my apparent home-boy bias ;-)... this has to be one of the most astonishing urban (and public realm) redevelopments on the continent in recent history... not to mention preventing a potential flood disaster event.

Huge jump in heights (up to 46 storeys in the western portion) for the future community on Villiers Island with at least 9000 residential units of which 2,200 to 2,700 will be affordable units (depending on the final mix of unit sizes).
Conceptual rendering below is a bit misleading as the development blocks are actually just 26 acres while the parkland is more than 50 acres.
Greening up everywhere around the new river valley and wetlands. 100 year old seedlings from wetlands that were buried metres deep below what was a toxic industrial site... are sprouting green again.
