I don't think they ever intended to actually build a new hospital. It was just a tactic to get votes. It's a tale as old as time: politicians rehashing the same promises over and over again but neve r actually getting to them.

I can't help but wonder if the Liberal's 2018 promise of renovating existing hospitals would ever have amounted to anything. It would have been far more straight forward. Six years in to the CAQ's promise, and they haven't even chosen a site yet. Then again, the Liberals were in power 13 of the last 23 years, and all they managed to do was build one cancer wing and open a McGill medical school... better than expected honestly.
