I think I have a chance tomorrow to check it out.

I guess they'll post another road closure for the other crane removal. Nothing scheduled right now.

Finishes are looking really nice on this one. Does anyone know what the curved tracks are on the top floor's ceiling around the balconies?

The timeline is a little fuzzy because I live across the alley from this build and all the days blend together, but here's my recollection:
- A few weeks ago Broughton was closed because they brought in a boom crane to lift some large metal frames onto the alley-side of the podium (I think they are for the outdoor shelters in the sunning area?)
- A while after that crane left another boom crane appeared just last week and Nicola was closed.
- Around the time Nicola was closed the Nicola building tower crane was taken down (and the freight elevator too IIRC).

I could have sworn there wasn't a crane on the Broughton building at one point but looking at the pictures in this thread I must be wrong...

The closed Robson last week mid-day Saturday and re-routed

I love the use of materials on this one, including brick, stone, metal panels that emulate wood, no spandrel, curtain wall, copper accents.

The podium seems to interface well with the back alley/street so left to see how the Robson side goes.

Overall, great development despite the demolition of Empire Landmark.

This is turning out way better than I expected. The renders made it look super generic, but there's just enough attention to detail to make it more interesting than your average glass box.

They only had to go down for three levels of parking, too.
Sounds like a totally nonsensical broken policy. That's why Vancouver cannot meet its potential in modern times when many other places are actually surpassing theirs.

Mobile crane is being used today on the west (Nicola) side of the development. It was just being setup as I walked by this morning.

Hoarding is down along some of Robson allowing a much better view of the ground-floor units and how they will interact with the pedestrian environment. Man, am I excited to get that extra sidewalk space back!

Looking forward to this one, was basically a pretty dead-zone block before.

I really love how this is finishing up. Detailing and colours are refreshing change from many other projects in the city/across lower mainland.

I still have no idea how it'll really look (in terms of colour), as the black and blue are both protective film. It is very carefully detailed, and the retail facades and canopies cascading down the hill are a massive improvement on the old hotel and above grade parkade.

Doesn’t the colour etc have to get approved by the city? And therefore it would be public?

Colours in the DP documents are usually not exactly as they appear on the finished product.

Variations, minor and major, happen on every project. We won't know until the wrap is off!
