For the pass couple of months they've been hampered by the concrete truck driver strike, then 2 weeks ago they were shutdown for 3 days.
Before all that they were on a steady pace of a 7 or 8 day floor cycle.

Nice to see that the facade still looks distinctive from far away.

Every year it seems like the Century Plaza gets smaller and smaller

When I was young it really stood out on Burrard for how tall it was

Pretty soon they'll have to call it the Decade Plaza

Walk over to the site this morning and wow! this tower really bears down on you when your next (near) to it, photos do not do it justice.

By me today.

Rebar looks to be a bit higher than Patina.

I think I mentioned this before, but with all the wavey panels, the cylinderical shape of the towers is getting lost in the pattern busyness when viewed from a distance.

You can see that in my pic above, and in this pic.
Without the panels, you can see the slab edge forming curves, with the wavey panels, the crevice between the cylinders disappears.
i.e. straight panels curving around the cylinders would have better highlighted the 'organ pipes'.

This is probably the nicest skyscraper/highrise ever built in this city, I have no idea why no one outside of this forum seems to care or notice.
