That's a great location....love me some Popeyes. I found Swiss Chalet to be under whelming the hand full of times I tried it. In fact I don't know anyone who eats there.

If you have any family or friends over 60 years old then maybe you'll know someone that eats there

The only people I know who like Swiss Chalet sauce are people from central/eastern Canada. No one I know from the west can stand the stuff.

Swiss Chalet's chicken tastes good, but not any better than what can be made by an amateur at home.

You have a rotisserie smoking oven that steams and uses mesquite?

Apparently Chez Pierre has a large rear patio and are doing something out front as well.

Is that a stuffed small deer or a dog in the right bottom corner of the photo?

Sooo... I’m still trying to decide which exception to the rules the rest of us continue to follow that this represents.

Outdoor patio dining which is limited to four family members from the same household?

An outdoor gathering limited to 10 people socially distanced with masks?

I suppose I could accept the official explanation that "The premier, with a few ministers and staff members, held a working dinner last night.” With lots of wine and at least one bottle of whiskey. Because if that’s how work is done by this government, it’s no wonder they make so many stupid decisions.

Or maybe the real reason was just a need to get in lots practice beforehand on how to carry on at the Calgary Stampede (with apologies to the Calgary Stampede) while the rest of us commoners continue to do the heavy lifting so there will be a Calgary Stampede for them to flip pancakes at. Because flipping pancakes is the same as flipping the bird isn’t it?

Or maybe it’s simpler than any of those things after all. Maybe it’s just a tough life after all but someone has to live it. Someone other than the rest of us.

Pretty obvious Kenny and the UCP are disrespectful to all Albertans. Redford never got a chance to use that space …. but Kenny sure is … catered in dinners with bottles of booze while being a mouthpiece on COVID but clearly in breach of the regulations. UCP need to pay the political price for this arrogance … throw the bums out of office!

The Russian Tea room is still open...wow. I went there a couple times 5 or 6 years ago. Great name for a restaurant... but their food is Dog food. So bad.

Al Fresco on 4th returns June 12 - September 18, 10am-3pm. However the street will remain closed all weekend for extended patios.
