The old Leon's location, next door to this new building, is set to become another Discounters location.

Is this supposed to be built in the old Leon’s parking lot?

It is going to be built on the lot to the right of the old Leon's building.

Work on $18.5 million climate change research centre to begin in April

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-island/pei-climate-change-research-centre-1.5463834

What a waste of money! The biggest monument to hypocrisy ever conceived. It should be built on campus; close access for all the students not stuck out 30 miles away. With the new residence soon to start, it would make sense it should be built in town. Too much politics involved in this one. Reminds me of the failed Ark back in the seventies. They said one reason is the lack of land on campus. Really, looks pretty open around the University to me. Nothing cash can't buy!

Oh that’s too bad. I thought it was going to have some road frontage. 5 storeys would have looked nice right next to the road. But if its going to be perpendicular to the road as oppose to parallel, that seems like a waste.

Anyone notice the self-storage building going up on the Sherwood Rd beside the EMS building.

I passed by a few months ago, however I didn't know it was as large as your pic.

My first thought was that it should be built on campus. I don't buy the "not enough space" reason at all. There obviously is room on campus for this building. But maybe this could be the start of a new mini campus for UPEI. A lot of universities have secondary locations. Could there be complimentary degrees offered here in the future, requiring an expansion. I have no idea, I'm just throwing it out there.

The storage facility in West Royalty looks to be 3 storeys as opposed to the 5 storeys from earlier renderings.

So this means it isn’t going to be a Cubesmart?

That’s too bad. I was looking forward to the compact office space CubeSmart offers.

Nice looking building. The Sherwood NIMBY Association will be sure to see that this building never goes up.
