Maybe they're doing some testing that required the glass to be lit up? If there is a new lighting feature wouldn't it be visible in the daytime photo?

They are only turned on periodically and /or at night.

There do not appear to be any light rods on the west side (other than at the corners),
and from Locked In's pic, there aren't any on the east side either (facing The Hudson).

Pic be me a couple days ago:

Pics by me tonight at dusk:

It would've looked a lot better if the windows had a white tint to them

I'm curious as to how far the lights will go down - if it's only on the top floor or maybe top 2 floors
(wouldn't expect any lower than that, although the corners could go right to the base if they want to do a 1980s Dallas look)

I like the fact that you can see the lights on top of the building when driving/walking across Granville Bridge: very bright!

I suppose now Council isn't concerned about birds dropping from the skies no more?

Don't they always? I swear, every time I go by there, they've got a big clearout sale - kind of like that furniture at Broadway and Yukon - a permanent "going out of business" sale.

Leftcoaster can confirm.
Yep that's the new crown lighting on 609... well at least part of it.

The crown lighting will extend down to the bottom of floor 24, so since 25 is an extra height mechanical floor it's really about a 2.5 floor feature.

It is being tested at its maximum brightness at this point, the design intent is not to leave it that bright but the lights needed to be stress tested.

Hope you guys like it!

Looks great, thanks.
I assume that there are only light strips on the north and south facades?

according to this tip top was bought out last year by US based capital partners and they were going to close 12 underperforming stores.

how long is this project? It feels like that first floor took several months.

Leftcoaster said they were using the top floor to test things out.
Presumably it'll move faster now.

Ya there was a lot of learning on the top floor, plus its an extra high mech floor, plus there were some teething issues with the towers holding up the work deck.

Everything is resolved now though and once the work deck hits floor 23 you should see much quicker progress.

Tip Top looks like it's a store closing from what's left in stock.
