Dude, why are you posting the same pic twice?? Why the spoiler tag to cover up a second pic that looks identical to me?

A friendly piece of advice. Don't bother with spoiler tags if there is only one extra image and its the same size. Other than that, great job.

Did either of you two bother to click on the spoiler button and look at the post?? I highly recommend you try doing that next time before commenting.

People need to think about what they’re posting, before they post. I’m sure tall Bob’s post wasn’t meant to offend anyone, but on the other hand if you post something that has no value whatsoever, and somewhat perplexing, you're gonna get blowback, it’s the same as any other Internet site Reddit, Calgary Puck, Twitter, you name it. The best thing you can do is not respond back.

Thanks for the clarification. Going forward, you should click on the spoiler button yourself to make sure the right image is there.

Clearly Suburbia meant it as a snarky comment, either that or he doesn’t know the making of grade school.

No offense was meant by me calling it a grade school. While there are varying definitions, to me, any school that has grades, example your school with grade 10, grade 11 and grade 12, is a grade school. You are not in college, a polytechnic or a university program, you are in grade [10/11/12]. Again, this is not a knock. Always pleased to see individuals continuing their education, and I would highly recommend pursuing higher education once you graduate.

I'm not sure about Crescent being the #1 high school in Calgary. I suppose it depends on your definition, but within public schools Western is often seen strongly. Only Western, Churchill, Diefenbaker, Pearson and Henry Wise Wood offer IB, which is another indicator some would use.

All - sorry about the off-topic post. Just wanted to respond to Daemon possibly being offended. Felt it best to provide a public clarification.

Technically high school has grades, but it's no what people consider grade school, anyone with a clue knows that grade school refers to elementary school grades 1-6. Hopefully they don't need to go through the IB program to figure that out. It was meant as a sarcastic comment, let's leave it at that.

The link I provided had Crescent ranked #69 in Alberta. In rankings, 69 isn't really that great a thing.

Actually you’re both wrong. Grade school is defined as either Elementary school or junior high and elementary school depending on which definition you go by. Merriam Webster dictionary defines it as elementary school. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/grade%20school

As far as Canadian education goes, here in Alberta grade school is elementary and junior high
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_in_Canada

What I find hilarious is that western spaghetti (referring to Suburbia) said anyone who didn’t know gradeschool meant elementary school was a clueless dimwit..... and suburbia thanked him for his post!

Really people? You all are getting your knickers in a knot because of what one member considers a grade school to be? At worst, this ridiculous debate could chase away a newish member who has actually been contributing in a positive way to this forum.

I, for one, have seen this member make great strides in their abilities and their willingness to heed sage advice to better their contributions to this forum and in particular, this thread - so much so, that I have dusted off my old Canon digital SLR and have started taking a few pictures. Photography used to be a hobby I quite enjoyed but it is just not something that one jumps back into and immediately is half ways decent in - understanding one's equipment and it's capabilities, knowing and using light and color conditions as well as scene set ups takes time, daemon is proof positive of how one's abilities and capabilities can change over time.

Anyhow, let the grade school thing rest - it is a very stupid argument. Daemon, continue on as is and if anything, take this thread's little side step as a way to thicken your skin because this side step is a perfect example of the ridiciouslessness that'll sour and drive people away.

One thing I have noticed through Daemon's photos is how Calgary's northern downtown fringe has changed - it is rapidly becoming a bit less interesting to me what with the shadowing rules and the development of more buildings closer to the Bow River. I quite liked the downtown of old where there more of a fortress like effect of towers along 4th Avenue that created this tall wall - that tall wall is still there but has pretty much disappeared from sight with the more recent devolpment of properties north of 4th Avenue. It was kind of awe inspiring to sit on Crescent Road and look at that fortress like wall, the stark transition from short to tall was quite something.

Hey. I agree whole heartedly. I don’t have any issues with Daemon’s photos, he’s the only one who contributes to the thread consistently, And has been our top contributor. I’d ike to see more photos from him.
