Looks like they are still seeking investors. They are asking for $800,000.00 on craigslist.

If they can't sell an entire downtown block for at least a few $million, they should just wait until that "next cycle." Due to the shelters across the street, no residential developer is going to pay good money (yet) to build a tower at that location.

Im sure the 800k is just a small fraction of the cost...last I remembered the lot was bought for 14-20 million.

It is bizarre that they are looking for "seasoned" investors on craigslist of all places.

While considering the topic of building over surface parking lots in this part of downtown, does anyone know of any plans with the surface lots on the south side of 7th Street between San Jacinto and Neches? I suppose we might as well include the north side of 5th Street between Brazos and San Jacinto in my question.

Just curious if there were any plans for folks to take advantage of the 6th Street district. I know for a fact that some of those lots are used for offloading instruments and equipment (at least they used to be when I was playing more down there), but my question is just related to potential development on the sites.

If plans hold true and this thing is north of 630,000 SF, we might see another ~35 story building rising ~400 tall - THE NEW "EDWARDS" PLATEAU.

In all seriousness...it could be worse. Twenty years ago we'd be begging for a 400'-500' building plateau.

So true, but 20 years ago we never thought 600ft was even possible. If only we could get a few 400' - 500' with remarkable architecture.

I bet the condos overlooking the ARCH sell like hotcakes. I don't know where they could possibly put the ARCH, but it really needs to go, unless it can alter its mission in such a way that the hundreds of people hanging around outside day and night are forced to disperse. There is no excuse for the city to tolerate that level of disruption and lawlessness in a single location.

Looks like 38 floors. I really like this. The balconies are fantastic and I really like that subtle roof.

I'm with you on the balconies for sure. And I like the top two floors. This reminds me of a cancelled project that was supposed to go east of Congress Ave. Same height and shape except not as elaborate and loaded with balconies. I know it was supposed to feature artwork on the street level. I was very disappointed when it was announced then never built.
