Google images of the different options of "metal cladding" then get back to me. The mesh metal cladding that was chosen to cover the stairs & ramps is a fairly expensive choice & looks fantastic in high sunlight as well as at night. You've told us many times that you dislike the exterior, why the chronic repetition?

On an anonymous message board I could tell you I live in a 4 million dollar home in Wascana View, doesn't make it so. Look at Novak's many ramblings on Facebook & delegations at city council. They mirror many of BDs posts. It's my opinion, I'm entitled to it. Now unlike BD I will now cease this opinion & spare you all the repetition unlike others.

It's entirely possible that it was a cost saving measure to ensure they could include all the other "goodies" for the budget.

I don't have a problem with the design of the exterior per se, just the materials used. Although more expensive, if instead of the metal panels, they had gone with tinted, opaque glass (green and greyish-white), it would've looked a lot fresher/sleeker... and might have even looked a lot more similar to the first renderings published...

They could have also backlight the glass panels with LED lights and the stadium could appear to be "glowing" in a sense at night... Imagine walking up a stadium that looks like that on a Friday night in the summer... or at the Grey Cup...

There's nothing wrong with critiquing things... that's how progress/improvements are made.
Exactly. Critique is not a bad thing.

I'm going to use this post every time I need an example of arguing in bad faith.

Completely agree. However critiquing chronically over and over and over about the same thing while completely ignoring the rest of the project is goofy and annoying.

It's time to let this siding discussion go, guys. Some like it, some hate it, most (like me) are probably ambivalent. There is a game there in two and a half weeks, which is a lot more important.

Not that I am a fan of Novak, or trying to side with anyone here, but I live in the Greens, and I know the street in the Greens that Novak lives on. I don't believe Brutal is Novak.

Can we cut the discussion about BD and Novak? It adds nothing to the thread.

Looking forward to the Rams game to see what this place is really like. Anyone else going?

Yes, I am. I also went to the open house on Labour Day weekend but I'm looking forward to experiencing the place with some football atmosphere.

I'm also very curious as to what the next test event will be.

Beyond the exterior cladding, I will agree with BDII in that I hope that the surrounding plaza and park are done right. Confederation Park, on the west side is tired and creepy. Hopefully they can spruce it up a fair bit.

I am also rather disappointed in the poured concrete in the north east corner but I will reserve judgment until all the features are in. Hopefully it improves between now and then.

I expect the Plaza of Honour will go on the NE corner. The lines lead to a central circle. I expect the panels go there.

I'll be down there in my Huskies jersey cheering on the Dogs.

So let me get this straight. I'm Novak, and just to throw you (and apparently only you) off the the scent I've posted that I think Novak has legitimate mental health issues and disagree with a multitude of the insane things he believes. But ok.

But don't worry everyone this is the last thing I'll say on it because Migs goes back on the ignore list as of right now.

Happy Mosaicing.

Will the big video board be ready for the Rams and Huskies test event?

Agree with your suggestion and a reminder for posters in this thread and others: ie: construction

Posts implying or trying to ascertain posters identities will be removed, unless a poster willingly gives his identity.

Calling out posters and discussing them is something that is growing tiresome and will also stop from this point forward. Use your ignore feature or report a specific post if you it violates the TOS of this site.

I don't believe the south endzone video board will be operational for the Rams game.

I'm interested to see if they start moving on the sideline LED ribbon boards. Only the 1 panel on the east side has been installed to date. There's less than 2 weeks left before the turf protecting boards/panels will have to be removed for the Rams game. It would seem that the idea would have been to have the LED ribbon boards completely installed (even if they weren't operational) for the Rams game so the field protecting panels wouldn't have to be installed a 2nd time, only to be removed a few weeks later (prior to winter).

There's also some substantial "game day" preparation required before the Rams game, such as padding around the field level concrete, benches, and of course field goal posts.

The next week and a half will be fun to watch on the stadium cam.

Dumb question here: Does anyone know as to whether or not the playing surface will be protected during the winter, and/or whenever the field is not in use? (In order to protect the turf's pristine, condition.)

Thanks.

Yes it will be protected by a layer of snow.

This version of Field Turf is basically indestructible. They claim that after many years it will remain pristine. I've never heard of anyone covering artificial turf in winter. That would impede the built in drainage system

Okay, good, because the old turf at Taylor always looked like hell not long after being installed. Thank you.
