This and the plaza that's taking years to build need to finish relatively quickly. The traffic disruption is bad. Normally portions of the street that are closed off aren't that bad, but this area is a disaster car wise. Not to mention in some parts of the Square, with all of the barricades and detours, pedestrians are being forced onto the street. Definitely a hostile area for the time being. But yes, I hope nothing happens because if it did, we could be looking at dozens dead given the extreme density in the area on any given day.

On a side note, you can see the clusterfuck that is resulting from all of the plaza/street work at the top center of this aerial view.
Like ants, they are all bottlenecked. Just wait until 9pm, today (Saturday), when it really starts to get busy. This is nothing right now.
