That is one of the concerns of the NCC. In that area alone (Zibi, LeBreton and 900 Albert), we probably have close to 10,000 units proposed (mix of condos, rentals and affordable housing. We have another 4,000 or so proposed one station down the Trillium Line near Carling and Preston.

According to Rendez-Vous Lebreton, it's a 20 year plan. Within 10 years, they hope to complete the Quartier LeBreton, Pimisi and Aqueduct neighborhoods with Bayview and Asticou being built at a later date.

3 of 5 neighbourhoods expected in first phase

The RendezVous LeBreton plan is predicated on five distinct neighbourhoods, three of which are also slated to be built in the first phase. Quartier LeBreton and Pimisi will be located along Albert Street, while Aqueduct will hug the restored aqueduct in the centre of the redevelopment.

That will mean 1,400 new housing units in the next decade, says Bird.

Neighbourhoods called Bayview, on the western edge, and Asticou, near the war museum, are planned for future phases.

Development will be guided by a grid pattern that seeks to restore the historic roads and streets at LeBreton Flats, says Bird, who speaks passionately about the site's history and went to the registry office to pull up old maps.

"We've got some of the biggest constructors and developer partners and they can just start working in different directions," says Bird, who notes that Windmill Developments, Mattamy Homes, Brigil, PCL and Tomlinson are all working with RendezVous LeBreton Group.

In thousands of surveys sent to the National Capital Commission during its public consultations, a number of people said they didn't like the look of the many high-rise buildings in the RendezVous LeBreton plan, but Bird says it's important to build densely near the future light-rail stations.

Coors Light, Canadian, and Pilsner are available in cans via people walking around the concourse and the seating areas.

I think they still sell Rickards at a couple of the specialty places on the concourse...Maybe they sell banquet now too....I haven't check those out in a while....

I am 20. I love to party and drink as much as anybody, and I do it too much, but if I go to a football game I want to watch the game comfortably and attentively, not standing and only being able to see the endzone.

thats fair but i know a lot of younger ppl who could care less about the game and just want to go and party in the patio section and be part of the good time.

in the end there will be different types of ppl. the regular seats are for ppl like yourself, the party decks are for the other crowd. CFL wants to tap into everyones wallet

You bite your tongue!

Bud is a beautiful beer... and symbolizes all that is great and free about North America!

It's just owned by those fricking evil Belgians now.

Yeah, makes sense to sell Bud at stadiums and arena. Just need to run a hose to the urinals. Who cares who owns it. It's still all North American piss.

And even those evil geniuses couldn't figure out how to make Bud drinkable...

Well, it must be drinkable to someone given that it's Canada's #1 bestselling beer...

It totally tastes like piss - especially when you go to Germany, drink their beer (aka nectar of the Gods) then come home and have one of our disgusting creations.

Sounds like we need a beer thread!

You want piss beer - try Chinese beer! So much of the stuff they sell here is 3% or less.

But it's cheap - really cheap. Last night I paid ¥2 (~40 cents) for a 500mL bottle with my dinner.

Bud and coors light are tops only because of the massive amounts of money spent on advertising.

That's what I was thinking. Surely people just buy it because the company has the license for that establishment. In other words, people have to buy it because they have no choice. Beers like Budweiser and Coors Light owe their market position to massive financial backing over decades that muscled out the incumbent domestic beers.... not because they were better.

If some bigger more powerful Chinese beer company decided to take the Canadian market, they'd buy up all the licenses over time and they'd end up #1. Surely people realize how the beer industry works?

Fair enough. I'm 29 and I like the social atmosphere.

Speaking of patio's ect. I wonder what the REDBLACKS do with the other endzone next season. Watching the home opener i'm extremely impressed with the "log cabin" looks great on TV and sold out pretty quick apparently
