An updated demo permit was filed today, and it has a start date of April 11.

As far as we know. But the dates on permits are not always exact, and there could be some salvaging and prep going on for a little while. It doesn't mean an excavator is going to show and start doing its thing right away.

Their Facebook page indicates they finished moving out on 03/30. There's a little reminiscing as well.

Very little demolition prep that I can see. They have yet to even put a fence around it or any sort of barricade.

For those living in the area, is there any sign of the demo yet?

They are supposed to put up a fence around the site this week. So things should be getting started very soon.

Don't take this to the bank, obviously, but someone involved with the construction going on around the Music Hall for the last several years has been told the Music Hall property has just been sold to an unidentified third party. I'd dismiss that as loose talk (and for now still do), except there is no fencing, no sign of anything related to demolition, and now I see the post that the website has been pulled down? I'm at least a little curious ...

There's something up with this project that's for sure. Funny you mention that because I overheard some people talking about it while I was out DT on Saturday. Didn't hear a lot of what they were saying but from the little pieces I caught, it seems it could be or has been scrapped suddenly. Now whatever the context remains to be seen and it would be best to take it with a grain of salt until something more substantial is released, but it does seem odd and raises questions about whether this project will occure as is or will be changed.

This would now sit right between the two tallest buildings in Austin in most skyline views. Wonder if something bigger/more luxurious is in the works?

I don't think so. I believe the site in encumbered by the same setback restrictions as is Austin Proper...basically, limiting the structure's height to roughly 400' (on these specific sites due to the setbacks and size of lot).

The website is still showing up for me.

http://www.thirdandshoal.com/

I also found this listing for the building showing spaces still for sale. It was last updated 20 days ago.

http://www.loopnet.com/xNet/Looplink...CB0003&LL=true

It's also listed on Cielo's website.

Just posting what I've found

Here's hoping this changes or in its present form proceeds at a pace making the zsa zsa progress seem at the speed of light.

That would be such a waste. That entire venue closing for this to sit empty. I have faith this will get built. I'm in an investment organization at UT and we were lucky enough to hear the CEO of Cielo speak in a small setting. Seems like a very capable guy and was very bullish on real estate in Austin. Would be surprised if this ultimately doesn't get off the ground. More concerned with the delay at Proper... Anyone know the status of that?

This talk of the project's early demise are unfounded. There was a lengthy presentation about 3rd +Shoal to the Design Commission last night.

What exactly does the Design Commission do? I mean besides nodding their heads up and down to everything that's put in front of them. Do they have a bedtime or are they allowed to stay up late for important presentations?
