It's a nice picture and a good view, but President Kennedy has to be the downtown street that is the most consistently ugly. The building front and centre is the worst offender. And that's its better looking portion.

Calgary sunset shot is AH-MAZING! Kinda looks like Seattle...

On the other hand that rainy Vancouver one is so underwhelming... With it being a night shot and the clouds not showing the mountains it makes it look so... boring. I usually LOVE Vancouver's skyline but this shows how the beauty of the skyline heavily depends on its surroundings (the mountains).

I hate to be one of those guys, but just be aware that that's just a tiny portion of the skyline, which is just some condos on the waterfront. From that view you can't see any of our office buildings, or mountains for that matter. The photo is just really close up.

^ Why? It's a valid opinion. Vancouver doesn't necessarily look stunning in every light from every angle, just like Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, etc. It's all very subjective.

Unnecessary because it's so obvious that it doesn't even need to be mentioned. Everyone knows that the scenic surroundings add huge amount to Vancouver's skyline aesthetics.

^ Who gives a fuck? Why this need to neurotically nitpick someones opinion. There isn't anything "wrong" with it, except you deem it unnecessary. So then ignore it. If it wasn't quoted, I'm sure less people would've even read it.

Also, as previously mentioned, it's a narrow shot of a residential area. It's not "Vancouver's skyline".

^By that logic, The view of Toronto from the Islands isn't the Toronto skyline because you can't see Yorkville or Yonge-Eglinton.

Bold away, everyone is entitled to emphasize their key points.. even if they are weird key points

There might be a dozen or so 'buildings' in that picture, which because it's so dark really looks like a random collection of white squares and rectangles against a black background. Not much more can be said about it.

Here's a shot I took of the same location last year, with my admittedly cheaper iPod camera:
