I wouldn't call 60 kilometres "close" to the mountains but I grew up across the road from a mountain so...

^ Yes the foothills off in the distance do make a nice back drop to Calgary's ever so photogenic skyline...Great pic of Montreal as well..A recent post suggested New Yorkesque, and I agree..Especially with the bridges.

The new towers will change that view. Take the same picture in 4 years, it will be amazing.

TDC 1 and Avenue will do a decent job at filling the gap between the 1250 and le 1000. But I don't see the other towers making much of a dent. WE might see a snippet of Roccabella and/or Icone.

I can't really tell if the CF towers will be visible in the gap between Bourse and le 1000. Maybe.

Then Deloitte tower won't be visible aswell....

It will probably be hidden by Tour de la banque nationale.

I just now realized how old this picture actually is. No sign of the Marriott, Altoria, Altitude, CHUM & co. This picture is fantastic. The photographer ought to do an update, pronto!

That's long been my favourite angle of Montreal, although that specific picture is even better since it's elevated. It must have been taken from an aircraft as I don't recall there being any structures in that area tall enough for it to be taken from.

There are a few pedestrian/cyclist overpasses over Route 132 that give a similar view to the one posted of Montreal, except they're slightly closer. The picture is definitely from a plane.

That is a really unfortunate spot for a highway. I think they should consider moving it inland (maybe somewhere around where Boulevard Jacques-Cartier is), although this area is entirely built up.

^I prefer to. Who measures themselves in meters or centimeters. Do you not say I'm 5ft 10? Canada has always worked in both.

I measure myself in feet and inches but, it just seems weird for building. Planning applications which are presented in metric have such a huge influence in the field.
