Looks like the city is OK with this development. They might want a slimmer floorplate and will give some extra height for that.

Unfortunately, the awesome visuals are just renderings. Any sort of cheapening will be disasterous. The city should push Plazacorp and Bazis for curtainwall.

I will never understand people's obsession with having a sea of pencil thin towers. Muscular buildings with girth have far more presence, imo, and anchor a neighbourhood in a way that a slender tower never could. Give me a FCP over one just as tall, but skinnier any day. Likewise, solid walls with some colour accomplish the same while all glass buildings look so temporary.

Procura is behind it currently and given that they have A LOT on their plate, I see this as more of a long term play/partnership or sale.

... but who knows
There was no mention of what city is was for. Edmonton?

50 Tallest Proposals diagram: http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?searchID=62457751

Page 2 has Vibe One from Ottawa, Vibe Two is now off the list.

I still have yet to see a render of IQ towers 5 & 6...

Edmonton yes. You can clearly see the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald.

I just think it would work well for the look of that specific proposal. Every other time slimming is mentioned, I've never agreed. Toronto could use as much diversity as possible in the skyline, in my opinion.

Toronto has a ton of diversity already. I would like some thinner towers with fewer than ten units per floor. Theatre Park comes to mind.

I agree. Whilst I like the slenderness of One King West and Theatre Park, I wouldn't want too many like that. Walking around NYC I love the width of some of the office towers there. Especially the "X Y Z" buildings. Three behemoths and wonderful brutes of a building.

I hope so. The window-wall going up on Emerald Towers in North York is pretty frightening lol.

One of my favorite things about New York is the massive 200 meter office towers that seem to be everyhwere, especially when strolling around Midtown. Just an amazing feeling, I wish we could replicate here.

For commercial buildings specifically, larger floor plates are seeing as desirable for tenants and have a positive influence on market values.
