The good news is the lake is slowly rising again and should continue to do so over the winter as we will continue to see a steady progression of storm systems moving through.

I'm very happy to see Barton Creek flowing again at 360. Since the first October flash flood it has been consistently flowing wich is the longest it's done that in a few years.

^Yep, I was down on the greenbelt about 2 miles south of the pool back on the 3rd, and the creek was still flowing pretty good in spots. I've learned that if I want to go for a swim on the greenbelt that I have to do it within a few days of a good rain, but this time there was water flowing for weeks after the rains. And man, the water must have been roaring back there. There were trees down all over the place and all the grass and brush had been plowed down by the water. A woman also drowned on the greenbelt just down from the pool.

February 2011. That was the last time we had snow.

I didn't even know we got snow that recently. It obviously didn't snow in the southern part of the Metro where I live.

Here's a bird's eye view of downtown from today's front page Statesman story about traffic. (It's clipped from the pdf version of the Statesman, so the quality isn't the best.)

That area between The Shore and Four Seasons Residences is going to fill in big time.

A zoomed in image with more detail from my last post.

Both pics were taken facing a SW direction.

I agree, I'd like to see a pic from this vantage point in a few years. I'm not happy about the drum succumbing to redevelopment. To me, this is an impressive and landmark structure. I always thought it gave us a bit of 'cool ' factor especially at night when lit. I can't imagine where the new arena will be built.

Hey, this picture didn't happen to be taken off Bullick Hollow right?

It looks incredibly familiar, I toured a home for a client there, up on a hill. I am almost certain that was the view. House was selling for too much, the owner admitted to me that the low level of the lake has literally killed his chances of selling for his asking(or near) price.

Those last two are great aren't they? And I'm pretty sure the Belo Center at UT is a highrise. I couldn't find the site plans with the elevations for it at the city's website, but it looks like a highrise to me. It looks to be about as tall as the Ransom Center across from the Dobie Center, and that building is 118 feet. I could stare at that last one for hours. haha

Good eye! I was at Cypress Creek Park, Bullick Hollow Road is behind me and the houses up on the hill in the background are on Panorama Drive.

Actually, the last THREE are great. I have been staring at the last one picturing in my mind the future development east of the Four Seasons. Even though you can't see some of the western part of town construction from the last pic, it is clear that our skyline is truly maturing and becoming worthy of our population. The pic from the Capitol grounds shows us as a 'four season' picturesque city, kind of Boise-isk beauty, and you got the cranes behind the Frost...nice... I really like that one, next to last, cabs at the intersection, people on the street, shows the city alive at dusk. I was afraid because it is 12/25 there wouldn't be any updates today....but like I said earlier, thanks for the Xmas gift Kevin.

Wow Kevin. Those pictures are amazing!

All of them. And that last one... I just can't stop looking!

I have a new desktop background. Thanks for finding and sharing those!

This is a pretty good before and after. The distance and zoom seem to be just about perfect.

The first photo was taken in 1913, the 2nd in 2013.
