Pearl from a boat in the middle of the river near the Laurier launch.

The 'red hat' is showing now. Not a fan.

Ohhh... I was really hoping it would be copper or something. Not stucco. The tower still looks great though, the hat... no.

Yeah it's stupid that it has nothing to do with the rest of the tower. Overall it looks good though!

We had a lot of similar dreams for what it could have been in 2011: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=177634&page=497

Not a fan of the red either. Maybe they'll later paint the red hat another color. Even dark blue would be fine. White or gray...probably the best.

It appears the red stucco is being removed! Glad they are getting rid of it:

Likely Regency (builder) wasn't a fan. They are particular like that. Remember the lenght of time it took them to select their curtain wall? Same idea.

I have to say I don't think the red was actually the finish colour of the crown. We have 2 or 3 buildings under construction here in Winnipeg that use the similar colour waterproofing/air barrier product. It looked exactly the same. I will look for the pictures.

....The Pearl looks really good
