Was going around the Google Maps 45 degree angle view and just noticed that Tinseltown has a giant sundial on the roof that I've never heard of.. that is just bizarre.

http://www.crosstowncondos.com/Blog.php/113

And the giant stamp on the roof of the Canada Post building looks like it's about to dissapear.

45 degree photography and new street view for Vancouver. So amazing! And both on super nice, clear summer days. Some city's street view is pretty grey looking. Now if they could just update the ages old (2009?) satellite view for Vancouver, that'd be the map-tri-fecta!

WRT Terminal - the Mercedes dealership is HUGE! I didn't realize it was the entire block. It even goes behind that pumping station/ substation building.

Am I the only one thinking that "box" design element is already getting cliched?

I think it looks good. This project is adjacent to the seniors' housing proposal from last year, if I am not mistaken.

B.C. government has leased the former Howard Johnson hotel at 395 Kingsway

On Tuesday, Housing Minister Rich Coleman announced two housing projects designed to get more people off the street.

The B.C. government has leased the former Howard Johnson hotel at 395 Kingsway — more commonly known as the Biltmore — to provide 100 interim housing spaces for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

In addition, Coleman said a new 10-storey, 147-apartment building at 220 Princess Ave. will be built to provide housing for single women and women with children.

The property on Princess, which is worth $4 million and owned by the city, used to be home to the Drake hotel. It is one of the 14 sites owned by the city and being built with money from the B.C. government. So far, seven buildings have opened.

Hoarding is up for Yuanheng Canada's project adjacent to the King Edward C-Line station. Here's the develoepr's page for the lyrically named "Cambie & King Edward". http://yuanhengcanada.com/?post_type=portfolio&p=44

Yuanheng seems to be moving pretty aggressively into the local condo market.

Here's a view of the site:

I can't tell if they're going to incorporate the station building or not. Anyone have an answer?

Here's a drawing of the building:

I sure hope they are, as I really think skytrain stations should be integrated into buildings.
