I love it! The ticker around the base is a great touch.

This is honestly more of what I was expecting for our two new additions at the corner of Granville and Robson...

Will it really have a screen on the side?

I like the design, but what would this ticker and screen be for?

(who is paying?)

Somehow I think they should just scrap the ticker idea and replace it with some colourful light rod around the building... might irritate residents (not really many that live there though) but it'd look better and make way more sense than some miniature red text running around the top of the building where few people can see properly or notice...

If anything I'd expect the ticker to be closer to the ground... just my opinion...

Finally that television... oh geez. I don't know if it's in the right place for everyone to see as the SkyTrain station will be an obstacle from viewing on the viaducts... if anything it'll disturb the residents such that they may just very well do a dark blank wall at night, which would be a waste...

Nice, I like the modernist black trim. The city needs more of this and less grey/white. This should be the base standard for all redevelopments of existing low-rise heritage. A shame this didn't happen at Robson/Granville

Well ,we are at odds, haha!

Don't know how you can not like the ticker, it is something unique in Vancouver (actually really sad how few tickers we have) in fact the largest one in our entire city I think is on a TD Bank in Richmond!

Of course such a ticker would have been far better suited for say..........the corner of Robson and Granville, but oh well I will take it here.

And honestly, if that screen disturbs residents, then maybe they should not live downtown. Honestly, it is very low to the ground and is a decent distance away from the nearest residents, no one will be looking directly at it.

All, on the south side there is no screen but instead a projection from time to time on fritted glass.

Looks good.

It's a bit odd they didn't take the sun shades around to the west side as well, given the plaza in from of the Amec Building.

I don't really understand you design freaks. It looks like a ridiculous bolt on to an old brick building IMO.

It's not odd, because that kind of sunshading is only effective for southern exposures. The street-facing facade is northwest, so vertical fins would make more sense there.

Wow! Impressive design & a great re-use of an existing building. This is exactly the type of development that should have happened around Rogers arena whereby it would have been commercial for the first ten or so floors which would have brought exciting commercial opportunities to the area and placed the residences well above all the noise and bright lights below.

i don't understand the screen at all. it doesn't face that little courtyard next to the station and you won't be able to see it from dunsmir: http://goo.gl/maps/9tnZo

so... wtf?

I guess my comment is that there's no sunshading on that side regardless of type. My condo faces the same orientation and it gets hot in summer. Ditto for the offices in TD Tower that face that way too.
