Well, this tower is very quickly establishing itself more and more as the tallest building in town. Seeing it is an awesome experience, and now that it is the tallest, it is kind of jaw-dropping every time I go by. It's hard to imagine the skyline without Devon now. Here are some photos that caught my eye recently.
This photo is taken from the Lake Hefner dam,
a 9 (!) mile crow flight from Devon Tower. Foreground highrises are residential and office buildings are part of the NW Expressway business district. Downtown buildings peek over the ridge, and Devon is going to soar into view over Lake Hefner. From Mrktguy29, Photobucket.
This one wowed me too, by OURulz2000 at OKCTalk. The canyon on Harvey is pretty dramatic now, with the view terminated by the public rotunda of the Devon Tower. The street will be a new "view/pedestrian spine" for downtown, which will extend through a new central park south to the river via a high-design pedestrian bridge over I-40.
