On that note, I love the black window frames on many of the concrete clad towers you see in the metro area.
I like the black window frames too, it works well with a lot of the west-coast looking towers from 2001-2003 (by that i mean the ones with the butterfly roofs and cantilevered hats). But I hate the painted concrete...

Another point about the sameness of materials... glass isn't going to go away any time soon; in fact as technology further reduces heat loss and solar gain, people are simply going to want maximum transparency, views and light, in a city that doesn't have much of the latter. Vancouver by nature, has to be a city of glass. That said, there's still plenty to work with within that framework, though we've barely begun to explore it.

I know what you mean man. I hate the light coloured window frames you see on a lot of new buildings. It's like an otherwise — wearing white eye liner. It just doesn't do it for me.

Nope, just another "well thought out" part of the design that they came up with.

Did you know that the two LED stripes are on the south exposure also? I guess that made a lot more sense then putting them on the north exposure where they could actually be seen.

Seriously, who wants to trade for Jamieson?

Better yet, who wants to blow it up?

Couldn't agree more. It would be nice to see some different coloured glass though.

The spires on Jamieson make more sense to me on the side they're on than closer to the river. Terracing up toward the centre of downtown is the pattern that gives that domed look to the skyline.

^^ I agree and diagree with you on that Wooster, I just think it would have been nice to see neon stripes from the North, and Jamieson's spires reflected in Canterra at night/day!!! It's still a very appropriate project for Calgary. Just tooo bad that she looks FAT from some angles!
