TD / Ameritrade / Commerce

Is this the same TD that owns Ameritrade?

http://www.tdameritrade.com/welcome4.html

Wow. It must be.

Great job on this. I must say though that it looks a like ACC is placed too far west. It should be closer to Comcast, and from this angle it would be at least partially behind Mellon Bank Center, right?

Or am I wrong on this?

Definitely nitpicking here - you really did a nice job with it.

No, I think the ACC is positioned pretty accurately in that rendering.

Remember, the main tower doesn't go to 18th, the hotel portion does.

Yea, that render is pretty much perfect. Best one that's been done so far for sure. Great job! Remember, the Comcast Center rises about a half block east of 18th street, right next to 17th, while the tower portion of the ACC rises a half block west of 18th adjacent to 19th. This gives Comcast some breathing room and keeps the skyline more balanced from most angles around the city. I'd love to see this on the front page, anyone else?

Nice job filling in RATR as well.

So how tall would buildings have to be for Philly to be visible from NY and vice versa?

Way to go Tower. Excellent.

By nature I'm extremely skeptical and I certainly have my doubts about such a massive ($800 M) project coming from a developer with no official track record of building skyscrapers, let alone 1500' skyscrapers. But...... if the city can get TD Bank to relocate its american subsidiary TD Commerce Bank to Philadelphia I'd have a glimmer of hope that this monster could come to life.

So TD Bank current american subsidiary CO-HQ's are TD Banknorth( Portland Me.) TDCommerce (Cherry Hill NJ) Portland ME.. A city of 60,000 people and a metro of 400,000. Doing the math you have to like the Philadlephia regions chances of overtaking Portland Me. as HQ region for the TD Bank's american subsidiary. Now the question is will Philadlephia be able to outdo Cherry Hill for HQ location. Cherry Hill and NJ are not going to go down without a fight but ACC would be a nice little carrot to dangle.

Nice rendering.

If this gets built. I will really be a good thing that Comcast doesn't have a spire.
Could you imagine all of those spires. It would be overkill.

Great rendering, but I think the tower actually needs to be a bit further west. The Blue Cross (Fred DiBona) building is on the northwest corner of 19th and Market.. the ACC is supposed to rise (at least the office part) on the southeast corner of 19th and Arch, so if you use the Blue Cross tower as a reference, the ACC should probably be a bit further west in the render.

Nonetheless, great job.

^^^actually, the way the rendering looks right now is pretty solid. if placed on top of the tower, it might look junky, as the spire is asymmetrical. The above building works with the logo on top becuse that spire is relatively thick and is symmetrical.

This building must be built....
