As a business owner in chicago, why would anyone pay $50--95 sq ft to lease space here??? i don't get it, your only audience is basically the residents of the lakeshore east. Kind of exspensive retail space if you ask me, better off paying that same price per sq ft in the gold coast where the foot traffic flows 24/7!! do love AQUA however!

There will be enough residents to support a full size supermarket and a CVS, so why not a high end hair salon or a brooks brothers or whatever other high markup business LSE residents may choose to shop at? But yeah you probably want see a Dollar General.
the condos dont start until 53 or 54 (somethin like that) and by that height your higher than most of the neighboring buildings giving you a great view of the city.....thats prob why its going for 50-95 a sq ft

He was referring to the retail space which is on the first couple floors. The condos are very much over $50-95 a sq ft.

i knew something wasnt right about that.....my fault, i didnt read close enough......anyways, we should have some good pictures coming soon. i ran into solarwind today while he was snapping a few shots.
I must say, my perspective on this one has done a complete "180". When I first saw the renderings, I thought that this would be a disaster, but with each additional floor I'm finding myself happily proved wrong.

^ Tend to agree. Ironically, my favorite of Solarwind's latest shots is the last one, where you can start to read the crisp edges of the box.
Even if we don't like the final product, we owe Studio Gang, the engineers, and the various contractors a huge debt of gratitude for illustrating the potentials of digital mapping technology to assist in creating more organic shapes in tall towers.
Wow. you know, i think wavy glass probably works better for this building than any other building i can think of. In fact, i bet they even purposefully picked glass they knew would be more wavy (and, conveniently, less expensive)
