in the 30-60 story range of new towers, I would say that in teh next ten years? Denver should expect about a 8-15 new towers in that range, and in the 10-25 story range over the next ten years? Especially if the 08' Dem National Convention being hosted in this city pays off and is a success!!! Mark my words, it's going to happen, the population of today's Denver Metro area is a more open and welcoming group vs the 1970's population IMHO. There for watch this City Shine Bright come 2018 for the WINTER OLYMPICS!!!

Excitedly concur with you blm3034L!fe, but I would raise the numbers for the metro areas. Examples of construction like Fitzsimons and all that has gone on in the Tech center, and as Glow mentions, projects like Kent, I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. Depending on where people lived originally has helped convince them somewhat of where they want to live when they eventually move. Plus, not everyone wants true downtown/city life, especially as they age. Some of my older friends love living in the new residential areas of the Tech center as it is just easier for those who still want to drive or have limited abilities. Downtown is going to need an actual grocery market close to the mall and basic facilities for the elderly to actually obtain residents who are spending their fortunes on projects like the Kent. However, we may see such amenities arrive with the new structures. Winning the 2018 Winter Olympics would mean that people from all over the world would want to come to Denver – I believe we have achieved that status already and that appeal will only increase by the time the biding comes.

Denver should fully pursue the 2018 Winter Olympics. Partly because it would be a favorite to win the bid and partly because it will be at the end of this major boom that is just beginning. The FasTracks system will be complete and the next round of boom will be primed and set on the table. Winning the 2018 Winter Olympics would help to jolt that next phase of major expansion. FasTracks II (NexTracks) would be hurried up for completion in time for the 2018 games. Infrastructure into the mountains would be greatly enhanced, in preparation. All of this will only help to keep attracting new businesses and new residents to Denver. Denver is not yet a world class city, but it is quickly on the rise and a 2018 Winter Olympics could be the final piece of the puzzle to lift Denver to that level of recognition and popularity.

i heard a rumor tonight...possible denver new TALLEST by an established developer that had previous plans...described as "skyline changing"

If I here Trump mentioned one more time I am going to go ballistic. He is not the savior of Denver and that he decided to grace Denver with his presence and took a dump at the Brown Palace does not mean that he will ever have a serious proposal for Denver. The guy is currently the McDonalds of developers, selling his name for projects to get them more recognition. But his days as a mega-developer are past, Trump Chicago was his swan song.

Actually my mind went to Tabor II. An established developer now owns the lot and 700k sq feet already puts it pretty tall .. not much to bump it up to where it would be a tallest. Esp if there was something decorative on the top that would count toward the total height.

BCP's rumors usually end up being truths I've noticed over time.... and like TOTP said.. Class A office space is certainly in demand.

I was told there is already a model for Tabor Two on display. I haven't persued getting an eye full because their offices have been moving, but I will definetly be aggressive about this.

Hell, a Class A Office Tower at the Tabor II site could certainly be a new trophy property with the prestige of the location being a 17th Street address. If the tower is bumped up to 800K square feet with a decent crown.... new tallest.

Office towers are the only way Denver is going to get a new signature building and continue our urban restoration.

Although BCP chose to post that here in the RESIDENTIAL High-Rise thread. Could it be another condo tower? I would imagine that, the way the other towers are selling, a new condo tower would be easier to get out of the ground.
