^ I think they'd take that as a compliment, sort of in the way Goldberg took the constant "it looks like two corncobs" comment in a positive light. (The comparisons between the projects just keep growing.)

Well, quite different I think. 'Rotting' immediately conjures a notion of something your nose wants to get away from as fast as possible. 'Eroding' is mainly visual (though both also involve the tactile sense).
Anyhow, your point probably was whether Aqua evokes more of a 'rotting' or merely an 'eroding' image. As long as the varicose vein effect doesn't come through, 'eroding' hopefully prevails.

Mine was just a joke in response to the other comments. I do hope it gets built. I don't live in Chicago but close by. It would be visible from some parts of Hammond. (Where I live)

Passed by the site where Aqua is suppossed to be built and there was a sign stating "Future Sight of Aqua"... It appears that was only up for some type of media purposes because a few days later it's gone. I can't wait until they get rid of that dumpy diner/restaurant and piss filled elevator next to the fire department...

No, my point is that if the general public even gets within 75% of the objective of your design, you've basically created a successful work. I understand the specific differences of the two words quite well, but my point is that they are fairly similar when you start comparing them to other assessments such as "wavy," "random," "psychedelic," and so forth.

Is it just me, or is the view of Aqua in the rendering that includes the BCBS building and that atrocious 60's/70's Lakeshore East building an impossible perspective? I think you'd be under a building. I guess I don't quite understand how and where it's plopping down in that site.

Also, does The Regatta block the view of where Aqua will be? It'd be a shame not to see this beauty from LSD.

If I was jealous, I wouldn't absolutely love the Waterview or Trump towers.

Or how about the fact that the Aon Center and Sears Tower are 2 of my favorite buildings on Earth.

people are allowed to have their own opinions, and they are free to dislike Aqua or any other project without the need for anyone else to surmise ulterior motives for their dislike.

I can't wait to see Aqua standing next to Aon. Aon is stoically beautiful, strong, and seemingly immovable, while Aqua will be in a state of flux. It's an absolutely amazing juxtaposition of rigidity against malability (or maybe liquidity?). What I mean is they will look absolutely awesome against each other.
