Are you guys watching? Canada conceded a goal from a corner kick.
That's rough, cause it seems to me that they've been rather dominant for the 1st half, but they fail at scoring, lacking skills in the last 20 meters.

About ticket prices, it's been controversial over here in France too. A lot of people would be frustrated.
I see there are Bosnian fans in the stadium tonight. These people are probably not particularly better off, but there may be better prices to members of organized fan clubs.
That's the way it goes in Europe. You pay for an annual subscription to a fan club, then tickets are way cheaper.

Voilà, c'est bien.
Nice goal. Canada doesn't deserve to lose this game.

That's a bit of a downside for them. They can run and pass the ball, and attack aggressively as well as many teams, but finishing is still a bit of a struggle. They don't have the Messi's, Mbappe's, etc..

I saw it on TV not well as I was working, but the stadium in Toronto looked maybe 1/2 to 2/3 filled? I haven't looked at the prices but people were saying tickets were minimum $1000, thats nuts.

Vancouver is getting busy and ready. Tomorrow should be fun.

Watching the Turkiye team arrive, only on videos, really got me more interested in everything, pretty crazy. Apparently the smoke is a regular thing in Turkiye for football

I only watched the opening part like two hours before the game so I wasn't sure what the deal was.

At first glance I thought some of the sections were empty, but it was the sections where the Bosnian fans were. Maybe that was part of why sections looked empty?

Toronto (BMO) stadium was completely full from what I could tell.

Anyways - good showing from team Canada after a shaky start. A draw against Bosnia is not bad at all. Some clutch substitutions too so good coaching. I think we can beat Qatar which would make things interesting.

Hoping the team is at their best and the unfortunate luck is kept away. With those two things we will hopefully see a knock-out stage match.
I still recall 2022, when Canada was in the "group of death." With all things considered, we performed well in Qatar. I thought Croatia was the only team who really were dominant, and that the games against Belgium and Morocco could have gone differently, with some lucky bounces.

At any rate, Canada did pick up a point today, even though they deserved to win. We should win against Qatar, so the real test will be playing against the Swiss. Anything short of a win against Qatar would be a massive failure for Canadian soccer.

Should being accused (not tried and convicted yet) be grounds for being barred from Canada?

Ghana strongly criticises Canada for denying Thomas Partey a World Cup visa
‘High-handed and extremely unfair,’ government says
Official note of protest sent calling for a review

Ghana’s government has described Canada’s decision to deny Thomas Partey a visa for his country’s World Cup game against Panama on Wednesday as “high-handed and extremely unfair”.

Ghana’s foreign ministry said it understood the decision to be based on pending criminal proceedings in Britain. The 32-year-old Partey, a former Arsenal midfielder who plays for Villarreal, faces allegations of rape and sexual assault in Britain. He has denied the charges…

…Ghana’s foreign ministry said it had dispatched an official note of protest requesting that Canada review its decision. “The government of the Republic of Ghana expresses strong reservations following the high-handed and extremely unfair decision by Canada,” it said. “While respecting Canada’s sovereign right to enforce its immigration laws, Ghana considers that reliance on unproven charges in the absence of a judicial determination raises fundamental questions of fairness and proportionality.”…

I have to admit, I like seeing Toronto playing second fiddle to Vancouver in the biggest sporting event on the planet. At the bar yesterday, people kept commenting on the background of the TSN broadcast centre at Jack Poole Plaza. And it is spectacular, though TSN is overdoing it with the constant angle changes, like literally every 3 seconds. Fun times for the city.

People not in a host city, do they have anything or a fan zone set up?

I was surprised to see small towns in BC like Ft St John are having fan zones.

it doesn't seem busy but they have something.
