This will be a 4 part thread covering my first year or so in the incredible Chicago, IL. New segments will be released every week.

I think I’ve been to Chicago 9X over the past 30+ years but I feel like I really need to explore so much more. Such a great city and the neighborhood photos are so welcome. Great set.

Thanks! It really does have so much to offer and my goal is to explore every part of it In the next few installments I start getting into more of the "off the beaten path" neighborhoods so keep an eye out!
Wicker is a cool spot & the area around the Damen Blue Line Station is one of the best and liveliest intersections in the city imo. Plus the views from on top of The Robey can't be beat
The next set of photos I'll be posting have some pics from the "Beer Baron Row" neighborhood in Wicker so it wont be the last you see of WP
i especially like a thread like this where it feels like we are walking around with you.
Glad you enjoyed it! I generally try and take photographs in a way that mirrors how i see the city when i'm just strolling around (ie layers of buildings lining up in interesting angles, trees framing the view, etc) so I'm glad that feeling came across
Big Thanks to anyone who made it this far in
It has been a hell of a first year in the MidWest and this was just a small glimpse into everything Chicago has to offer. I've wanted to live here for as long as I can remember and so far it's been a place that really is everything I was hoping it would be. A city steeped in history that stands tall and takes no shit. A city of big ideas and bigger action. There's no small plans in Chicago and you can see in the layers of brick and steel that grand ambitions truly do build grand cities.
Fantastic photos. You have a terrific eye. These are making me homesick.
Thanks! It's easy in a city with so much beautiful architecture. The real challenge is keeping my eye on my surroundings instead of just facade-gazing all the time
Thank Pizza God that we're finally getting an actual winter this winter.
Chicago in the snow is absolutely everything I was hoping it would be. Glad we got a nice re-up on the fluffy stuff this weekend too! Also glad I didn't buy a whole new winter wardrobe for nothing
