Thanks. I wonder if Related will use the same design that it had proposed for the south side of the site.

It’ll be a larger building that won’t require a school at the base. It won’t be the same design, but it’s possiblevit coukd be somerhing similar. Keep in mind that the new version will be built on the platform.

70 Hudson itself is basically spoken for, so not surprising at all Related wants to get on with more office here…..

Related Cos. is planning new towers at Hudson Yards because all the space in the massive office complex is filled, said CEO Jeff Blau

Considering the ‘ground level’ where the Vessel is in phase I is about 15 feet above the road surface of 11th avenue, I would think they would want to build a pedestrian bridge to connect phase I and phase II over 11th avenue. I know pedestrian bridges in urban cores are now considered out of style and bad urban form, but I believe that would really help unite phase I with II and create a cohesive pedestrian environment along the entire campus. I believe however that new pedestrian bridges are banned or require some special approval. I also didn’t see anything on the master plan for this. Does anyone know more about this? I realize the high line will provide circulation between the two nodes but I would think Related would want to connect the phases in a better manner, especially if they plan any retail component for phase II

The Vesel level of the plaza is reached from 11th Avenue via a series of “ramps” and stairways. Both 15 and 35 Hudson are accesed directly from 11th Avenue. There will be no need for a pedestrian crossing.

This suggests that 625 Madison will be residential. Otherwise, Blau likely would have mentioned office there. I'm very eager to see more renderings of that. Hopefully, there will be a lot of Stern-style ornamentation and not simply a limestone box sans frills.

It should be. Earlier, it was suggested that Related could switch to office, but that appears not to be the case according to recent DOB filings.

As far as office space goes, the office tower here is the largest in the pipeline….

Western Rail Yard. The office component of this development is a 2.8 msf tower. Development is dependent on public financing of a platform on the MTA rail yard.

The others…

Assuming that a deal is, in fact, “sealed” at 175 Park, I hope that the tower at the western yards is the next to get a tenant. I’m anxious for HYW to proceed.

Isn't construction/financing not dependent on finding a tenant in this case?

I think that’s true for the platform, but I’d like to see the office and two residential towers rising simultaneously.

Correct. But Related likely has tenants lined up anyway. 70 Hudson was snatched up pretty quickly, and Related has been itching to get another office tower going.

You’re addressing the platform and residential buildings right? Since all of the buildings seem that they’ll be on the periphery of the site, can they begin construction before the platform? If so, I wonder when Related will start them.

This year, we should finally get renderings for Phase 2 of the railyard development. We have somewhat of an idea of the layout, but we haven't exactly seen it as it was approved. But we do know that the office tower will be larger than what was planned in either version we've seen to date.

As far as the residential towers go, I hope they can keep the design for tower A. It's something unique for New York, and fits in with the High Line, despite what the NIMBYs have been crying about.

In either case, we've already come a long way in Hudson Yards, with much more to go and forthcoming.
