It's slow but once they are past the podium it's gonna fly in comparison.

Claridge Icon was quite slow as well.

I find that seeing Relevé's build made the wait for this one less excruciating.

We are just now getting to the point where building 2 towers at the same time is novel. 3 would be exceptional. Think of it this way, we get to relive Releve a second time.

For most spots after the crane comes down and the building is substantially complete it becomes less interesting. At least in the sense of this forum. Something something post building clarity.

Claridge has often built multiple towers at a time. Claridge Plaza III and IV, Tribeca, Loop, Moon. They built three at the same time with Royale. I was quite surprised they didn't build both Ascents in one shot tbh. Minto at Lansdowne built everything at once, but seems they didn't have a choice. The only other time in modern history where we have multiple towers u/c at once in one project was back in the 60s and 70s boom with the likes of PdV (two phases with three buildings each) and L'Esplanade, and the massive Federal complexes in Hull.

From our friend Harley513/hoggytime on Skyrise.

Bluejay confirmed the hotel will have a full service restaurant and bar, but no other retail, which is what I expected.

I was as well. Bluejay's insight on Skyrise:

Quote:
Also, it is never too early to start installing cladding, especially with the logistical restraints on that site. The reason why the east panels were installed this week is due to the crane being raised this weekend which will means that the crane stabilization arms would have prevented installing those panels after the fact. West and south precast installations will start in mid January. Curtain wall installations will start in December. The curtain wall colour and design is similar to Releve.

it looks really good in person! It actually looks better quality than Releve which I already like!

Very promising!

Initially I was skeptical, because you know, precast, but it's grown on me pretty quickly.

Took a few shots yesterday evening. It's progressing at a good pace now.

Looks like it has a "feature" angled column.

Yes it is, but certainly quicker than the excavation. As BlueJay mentioned, maybe on Skyrise, the restrained site is a challenge, so it's a little slower than other projects. I imagine it may take twice as long to top up than Odenak.

Floor plate is also massive. It's like the podium just goes straight up. I said in a previous comment here that I was curious how quickly it would go up compared to it's neighbours given the smaller floor plate. I think that came off the exact opposite of what I actually meant.

Odenak, this block and the Library all within eyesight of each other is a nice treat we aren't used too.

Very much agree. Quite the transformation of the west skyline, which used to mostly just be a big wall along the east side of Lyon. It's giving Place de Ville C some competition for the first time since it was built.

Reminds me of around 2012 when the Elgin skyline had a big update with the James Flaherty Building and Performance Court, along with the Merit and Tribeca (to a lesser extent because it's a bit tucked behind the CBD).
